I love this painting! When I look at this painting, it reminds me of my childhood! I was born in Belgium and when I was a child, my mother took us often to little local pastry shops, cafés or chocolateries for a nice little treat in Bruxelles . What fond memories I have of that ! I look at this painting and I can smell the old wooden counters and floors mixed with the scents of sweet goodies. I feel the history of the building, like these wall have stood the test of time and have so much to tell us. I want to run inside and be a child again. I want to run on those old wooden floors creaking under my feet and pick the creamiest cake of them all!!
